Revent Academy’s Bootcamp: How It Went Down

It has been a busy couple of weeks for us at Revent Academy. The cohorts have been to our learning space and met with their Facilitators one-on-one and trust me, it has been fantastic. Everything began with the two weeks online Bootcamp that commenced in June and ended early July 2022.

The Bootcamp kicked with the UI/UX Design class facilitated by our Design Guru, Folashade Omidiora, and was quite interactive as we got to meet all the members of our first Cohort.

In the same vein, the Backend Development (.Net) introduced the cohort to building secure web applications in the C# programming language with Microsoft’s .NET software framework.

Even though the Bootcamp was for 2 weeks only, it was a run of intense training sessions designed to prepare students for the practical reality of development and designing in tech.

More About the Bootcamp

Revent Academy Courses are facilitated by leaders in the field, and each prepared the participants with vital tech skills they’ll need in today’s fast-moving tech world. The Boot camp was designed to give a complete overview of all the skills software developers and UI/UX Designers need for job placements in major companies and fast-moving startups. The training session is now in progress and the Cohort also working on some exciting projects.

Benefits of the Bootcamp

Tech has a massive skills shortage, and budding techies must be groomed with a hands-on approach as more and more companies favor results over time-based experience. During the boot, the cohort was involved in several projects which are potentially the sort of experience they need to land a lucrative role as a Software Developer or UI/UX Designer.

Open Dialogue Approach:

Our class facilitators were psyched to meet the students when the Bootcamp started. Our facilitators not only used a practical approach in teaching the budding Techstars, but also engaged with them throughout the Bootcamp period to know how they are learning, what they have learned, and asked if any one of them had issues getting the scope of what is being taught.

Our budding techies also had the privilege of being in contact with our Director of Learning, Christina Soname, and our Program Manager, Foluke Olubobola, should they encounter any issues that might obstruct their learning process.

All in all, we had a great time at Revent Academy because our budding Techstars also had an amazing time learning and interacting with us.
